38 weeks

We are less than 2 weeks away from the due date. Dr. Seeker was out today, but I went ahead to my appointment to see the nurse and get an update. She said I was 50% effaced and 1-2 cm dialated. I don't really know how to take this information since I have heard of many friends being dialated for weeks without anything moving along, but it was the excitement in her voice that made me excited. She was very surprised at how low Duncan was and reassured me that Dr. Seeker was on-call this weekend if anything happens. After 38 weeks, it is just nice to know that something is going on and it really could happen any day.

I saw Dr. Seeker today. He estimated Duncan's weight to be a little under 7 lbs now and will be right around 8 lbs at birth. We are still on track for May 10th!

We saw Dr. Seeker yesterday and got to take a last look at Baby Duncan through ultrasound until we get to see him in person. We have a little bit of progress - he has started moving down head first. He estimated his current weight to be 6 lbs 6 oz, so if he goes to the 10th he will be approximately 8 lbs. It is still early to tell, but Dr. Seeker bet that he would be a little early rather than a little late due to his current position. We will get another update from the Dr. next Tuesday.

35 weeks

I have the best friends and family in the entire world!!! My girlfriends Tracie, Larissa, Lori, Nichole, Melinda, Chrissy and Kathleen threw me a baby shower on Saturday and it was absolutely perfect! So many friends and family joined us including my college girls Chrissy Kleberg, Kathleen and D'Neal who all traveled in from out-of-town for the shower as well as my aunts and cousins that came in from Houston and Matt's mom, Aunt Sandy and Cousin Sarah from Albuquerque - ya'll are awesome! Duncan is already spoiled by all his aunts :)

He got soooo many great things - Matt and I have slowly been putting things together, figuring out how they work and getting the nursery ready for his arrival! I think we are just about ready! Flynt and Boston aren't sure what to think. I catch Flynt going into the nursery and sniffing out anything new that we add to it. One night I walked by and they were both asleep on the floor in the nursery - I can't wait to see how they are with the Baby!

I see Dr. Seeker on Tuesday and he will do the last ultrasound to get his estimated weight and check to see if I'm progressing at all. I will see him every Tuesday at 12:30 until Duncan arrives. I felt the hiccups for the first time Monday night.
